In a devastating road accident in Kolaghat, a bus collided with a garage, resulting in the complete destruction of five cars.
The incident occurred on Mumbai Road, under the jurisdiction of Kolaghat police station in East Midnapore district. The bus, en route to Odisha from Kolkata, lost control when its front wheel burst, leading to a collision with a moving dumper before crashing into a nearby car garage.
The impact of the accident caused injuries to several bus passengers, including the driver. Prompt action from locals saw them breaking the emergency exit gate to rescue the trapped passengers.
Four cranes were called to the scene to remove the damaged vehicles, while the Kolaghat police station coordinated efforts to transport the injured to a local hospital. The accident resulted in temporary traffic disruption in one lane.
